|Perhaps an evening of 1 act in a 3 act evening devoted to three of the above choreographers who all did brilliant work. DANCIN' was all right -- I recall some of it was pretty repetitive. FOSSE had some numbers that really registered, especially "Steam Heat" and "Big Spender" surrounded by lots of other not-so-interesting numbers. It was like they were afraid to put any numbers he originally had done for Gwen Verdon in the show, too, and she was the most famous dancer he choreographed for. "Chicago" is/will be running again, based on Fosse's original choreography, so he's pretty well-remembered and still represented on Brodway. The American Dance Machine does some great productions which span lots of choreographers. But I think these equally great Broadway choreographers are overlooked by too many revivals of Fosse, especially Jack Cole, who Fosse basically emulated (ok, maybe built upon, too) to some degree.|
