Am I wrong in remembering that the stage sequences, where Bacall sings the song (which I like), were filmed at one of our downtown theatres? Maybe the Variety Arts (I don't think that's there anymore, I think "Annie warbucks" may have been my last trip there...or Hunter Foster's "Summer of 42" musical). Or maybe the wonderfully ornate former Phoenix Theatre on 2nd Ave (original home of "Golden Apple", Monty Clift in "The Seagull", "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and the popular revival of "Joseph..and the Dreamcoat" w/Laurie Beechman...) which has been a movie cinema for years.

I don't have the blu-ray/dvd to check...but I remember thinking at the time that they used an Off-Bdwy venue, which was kind of cool and gave the film a touch on NYC authenticity.
