Nothing as big as the Tonys. The Kishida Award has been given since 1956 buy the publisher Hakasuisha, for best new/emerging playwright /Play. The Kinokinuya Theatre Awards are given for outstanding productions in a year - and maybe for others as well ...
The Yomiuri prize is literary, and goes to Best New Play in Japan - but there is also a prize for directors from Yomiuri. The Odashima Yushi award started in 2009, and goes to the best translation into Japanese of a froeign language play.
