I thought Rob Rokicki would at least get nominated for Score, which includes a rousing tune, like ''Bring on the Monsters.''
Instead, this'll be the first time this Tony goes to a play, but which one? ''A Christmas Carol'' because its title will remind voters of the music in it?
I know ''Lightning Thief'' was a young-adult musical, but I still think Chris McCarrell and Ryan Knowles were worthy of Tony nominations.
Knowles was a riot playing multiple characters, doing ''Lightning''-quick costume changes, most notably as Hades (channeling Paul Lynde).
And to quote Sam Eckmann at GoldDerby.com: The Tonys ''don’t care for shows aimed at kids. But Chris McCarrell gave an endearing, winning performance in “The Lightning Thief.” He certainly has a great future ahead, so pack away your genre bias and throw him a nomination, too.''
