I had a gut reaction to the OP. With everything that is going on around us-the nastiness and bleak landscape surrounding our world-I wake up yesterday morning to find someone taking down a show that has provided nothing but joy and pleasure to millions of people. Years ago, I watched the movie with a friend who was dying from a brain tumor. She hadn't smiled for months and suddenly she's singing along as if the Wells Fargo wagon is coming down our street. I watched it with my mother who was dwindling away from old age and/or dementia and she had the same reaction. Deep pleasure.
