Broadway did not shutdown due to 1918 flu

It shut down due to a strike for a little over a month.

My guess is broadway was mostly locals in the audience. Maybe the vaudeville and follies got more tourists and out of town business men. But even vaudeville acts did the circuit across the country so probably not as big of a draw in ny.

So news not being wide spread probably had little effect on a little cottage industry of broadway. The daily newspapers were enough.
