This was done for the short-lived A&E Clairol On Broadway series. John Herrera was quite good. His singing was much more legit than Scott Bakula's. I thought his voice was better used in the first act, where Bakula sounded better with the more pop-oriented material in the second act.
This Clairol series also presented Stop the World, I Want to Get Off with Peter Scolari and Stephanie Zimbalist. Scolari had a terrible sore throat, so that one's a bit hard to watch. Though I bet had he not been ill, it would have been a solid performance.
I believe the Rue McClanahan Nunsense and Nunsense 2 were also part of the Clairol series.
I think all these shows were taped at the Cherry County Playhouse in Michigan.
