But you weren't talking about the writing categories originally, which is what I was responding to. Whether or not anyone thought Great Comet was still in the race for Best Musical, I think almost everyone thought the writings awards were a fight between DEH and Comet.
I am also shocked that Rachel didn't win for directing and almost more shocked that Malloy didn't win for at least Orchestrations (as a consolation prize but even more because his orchestrations and vastly more impressive than those for DEH and far more deserving of the award).

I'm not sure why you think that Great Comet "can't tour"... I know the environmental staging is complicated, but they've produced a different physical production for the show in no less than 4 (or 5, i forget) theaters so far. I am very confident they will find a way for it to tour in at least the major theater cities.

And your opinion on the Tony performances is just your opinion - I thought the Great Comet number came off quite a bit better than almost all the other ones, and was just speaking to a friend last night who hasn't seen the show but thought the Tony number came off great. So I'm not sure what you're basing that on other than your opinion, but it is not held by everyone who saw it.
