Not precisely OT:

I loved the Peters Sally's red dress at the Kennedy Center. Minority opinion! It was widely dissed on this and other boards, but when I saw the show its last weekend in DC, I found it poignant, especially opposite Phyllis is the elegant white. It was so bold, it was almost like the wrong, too loud, garish prom dress. They finally changed it out for the pink one (with the unflattering bosom) for B'way. Interesting still the distance between Collins's look in the original -- very late 1950s, oddly like stuff Collins herself wore on TV -- and a sexier if still girlish Sally in the last revival. Others will disagree, but I say: She's probably a hard character to costume in the time frame, because that one dress must suggest much thought on Sally's part. It's all about Sally's need to self-present for Ben. It can never seem too arbitrary, color, style, shape, fit.
