Speaking of Sinatra, I've always wondered: How did he come to record 'Good Thing Going'?

It's the opening track of his ''She Shot Me Down'' album, which was released in November 1981, the same month that ''Merrily'' opened.

Sinatra recorded that album in various sessions earlier in 1981, so I wonder how the song got to him.

(And I've now heard a snippet of Sinatra's recording in productions of ''Merrily.'')

Obviously, he knew of Sondheim since he recorded ''Send in the Clowns'' in 1973, but still ...
