when I look around theatres, I see enthusiasm and life.

This. I attended a hyper-local performance from a small opera company last night. It began at 8pm and didn't get out until nearly 11pm (what would summertheater say?) All around me, I saw people having a joyous time. The ovation at the end of those three hours was massive. I heard nary a soul complaining about how zonked they were going to be at work the next day. Just happiness as we found our way out of the auditorium and back to our homes.
